To Miss Luna of Oddswallow Hollow

Here is Issy House-Elf of Lake Cottage writing to you the way you said and she is writing on Master Draco's machine as you were saying would be all right even if he didn't say so because Issy is allowed to touch the machine for cleaning and writing on the machine is only touching machine. Miss Doctor Emmy was saying so as well.

Issy is not so very sure Master Draco would agree with Miss Doctor Emmy but she promised faithfully the journal for ELFS and ELFS is very nice to house-elves like Issy who are Having A Mind Of Their Own but are still good elves.

Issy will write no more as there is dust getting on the window still but Miss Luna is a very nice witch for asking just an elf to write to her.

Issy thinks Miss Luna must already know and is being very kind to ask questions so Issy can practice writing down words so as to be better at it. But Issy is a good elf and is answering anyway as best she can.

So many things is always happening in Lake Cottage. Every day interesting things is happening and Lake Cottage is thinking interesting things. Issy is just an elf but Lake Cottage is the house. The house is the house and the house is where everything is happening and being done. And Issy's house is more special than other elves' houses because it is a house that is having a mind of its own more than other houses.

Practice it always good, but that doesn't mean I don't want to hear about what you think, Issy. That's why you've a journal after all. You've a mind of your own.

Houses is mostly having a mind of their own, but they is mostly very quiet and not speaking their mind very often so any witches or wizards can hear. Houses is being like elves that way.

Lake Cottage is speaking its mind sometimes. Though it is a good obedient house really, Issy is not saying otherwise in case it can hear.

I wonder if my house has a mind of its own. How could I go about finding out, Issy? Would Gravesy tell me if I asked?

Gravesy would not tell. Issy is not knowing Gravesy but a good house elf would not be telling its house's secrets and Issy is sure Miss Luna must have a very good house-elf for Oddswallow Hollow.

Sometimes cleverer wizards and witches is knowing when their houses is happy or is sad. Issy is not telling any secrets in saying Miss Luna could just be listening very carefully to is the house happy or sad.

Issy wishes she could be mroe helpful but she is a stupid eld and does not know how. Oddswallow Hollow is not Issy's house, and if it was being Issy's house then Issy could not be talking about its secrets. Issy is so sorry she will not look at any buttons all day.

Gravesy is a very good elf, so I won't ask. And I won't ask you such questions either.

Issy will not look at any buttons at all. If she was not so stupid she would be thinking of a way.

Is Miss Luna being kept away from her house? That is very very sad. Sometimes Master Professor Snape is kept away from Lake Cottage because Hogwarts Castle is a much bigger stronger house and that is a good reason but it is still making Lake Cottage unhappy. Sometimes Masters are kept away for for no good reason at all!

Issy would help Miss Luna get back to her house if she could, but she is hopeless and useless and is having no ideas for how to do it. She will not look at any buttons for two days! Not even for sewing them!

Oh, I'm not being kept away, I just don't live there all the time. I spend most of my time in the city, and the Hollow is far from there. There are other reasons as well.

So really, you see there is no reason why you need to not look at buttons. I'm sure Doctor Emmy would agree with me.

Miss Dr Emmy is always saying Issy can look at whatever she likes whenever she likes, but Miss Dr Emmy is not a house-elf. Issy will remember to try very hard.

Does Miss Luna not miss Oddswallow Hollow? Oddswallow Hollow must be missing Miss Luna very much and Oddswallow Hollow's Gravesy must be sad having nothing to do except the dust and spiders and other things for the house, which are important things but a house is never a house how it should be without its people. But Miss Luna is a very kind witch who talks to elves and so she must not mean to be cruel to her house and her elf and she is probably very sad underneath.

Issy must be going now as she has not done anything for so many minutes there is ash fallen in the library fireplace.
